Walla Walla Wildflower Hike: Chase Mountain Camp; Lower Middle Trail

13 Tuesday 10am Chase Mountain Camp; Lower Middle Trail (out of Dayton 11am)

We’ll drive the North Touchet River Road past Bluewood ski area. Climbing to 5000’ we will park and walk along old logging roads. Amazing vistas with flowering shrubs, vines and flowers concentrated on south facing slopes. On the way back we’ll stop by the Middle Trailhead and hike the lower portion along shady, cliffside seeps.

Wildflower Hikes: Blue Mountains 2023 CBNPS/WW Subchapter

Meet on Whitman Campus in Walla Walla at Harper Joy Theater parking lot at 10am with return by 4pm unless otherwise noted below in descriptions. Hikes out of Dayton will have WW participants meet w/Dayton and TriCities hikers at historical railroad ‘Depot’ museum in Dayton for carpooling. The group will leave 1 hour after Walla Walla meet uptime.

Bring walking stick, tick repellant, hat, mask, lunch, water and a few dollars for driver. Dress appropriately in sturdy walking shoes or boots and, depending on terrain, long pants. Guests are welcome. Unless otherwise noted, these hikes are easy to moderate elevation and leisurely in pace but involve uneven surfaces. Plant lists are available for most.
