July 5 –Wildflowers at the Saddle-

Walla Walla subchapter: Meet on Whitman Campus in Walla Walla at Harper Joy Theater parking lot at 10am with return by 4pm unless otherwise noted below in descriptions. Trips out of Dayton will connect w/Dayton and TriCities participants at historical railroad ‘Depot’ in Dayton 50 minutes after Walla Walla meet up time. 

Meet at Harper Joy Theater Parking Lot in Walla Walla. Leaving by 10am. We will car pool/caravan up Mill Creek and enter the Umatilla National Forest on FS Rd 65. We will park on spur road 6512 and walk leisurely for 1.5 miles along the spur studying the roadside and cliffside seeps. A wet, late spring makes this an optimum time for viewing blooms. A detour up Trail #3222 takes us to a waterfall. An extensive plant list is available. 4,200’

Bring walking stick, tick repellant, hat, mask, lunch, water and a few dollars for driver. Dress appropriately in sturdy walking shoes or boots and, depending on terrain, long pants. Guests are welcome. Unless otherwise noted, these hikes are easy to moderate elevation and leisurely in pace. Plant lists are available for most.
