June 25th. Big Sink Wildflower and Geology Walk. June 25th. (Original location was slated for Oregon Butte but landslides have made trails and roads inaccessible)
9am caravan from Harper Joy parking lot. The Big Sink is near Jubilee Lake up Weston Mountain. A fairly level trail goes around the sink. Bob Carson will lead those who want down into the sink. The rest of us will walk the rim - about 1 1/2 miles. Bring a stick, a hat, water (no plastic single use bottles permitted) and prepare for ticks and warm weather.
Bring walking stick, tick repellant, hat, mask, lunch, water and a few dollars for driver. Dress appropriately in sturdy walking shoes or boots and, depending on terrain, long pants. Guests are welcome. Unless otherwise noted, these hikes are easy to moderate elevation and leisurely in pace. Plant lists are available for most. General questions, concerns and corrections regarding the hikes can be directed to Darcy Dauble dadauble@gmail.com
