Rose Creek Nature Preserve: Located 7.5 miles northwest of Pullman, Washington, near Albion. The 22-acre preserve is bisected by Rose Creek with a plant community of native bunchgrass species in the upland, and a lush community of species such as Fendler’s waterleaf, and purple trillium in the wet meadow. 9am – 4pm (2 hours from WW).

Meeting Point — We will car pool from the Harper Joy parking lot on Whitman Campus. Refresh your i.d.'s and photo opportunities. Meet on Whitman Campus in Walla Walla at Harper Joy Theater parking lot at 9 am with return by 4pm.

What to bring: Bring walking stick, tick repellant, hat, lunch, water and a few dollars for driver if car pooling. Dress appropriately in sturdy walking shoes or boots and, depending on terrain, long pants. Guests are welcome.  Registration not necessary. Pickup in Dayton or Milton Freewater as arranged.

General questions, concerns and corrections regarding the hike can be directed to Darcy Dauble dadauble@gmail.com

Will stick to dates unless we can’t (forest fire, air quality, flood, washed out roads, cougar tracks, thunder and lightening….). Reach out to Darcy Dauble (dadauble@gmail.com) with questions. Specific trails not identified at this time. Blooms are early this year so we are starting early but trying to be flexible about destinations. The theme is plant communities and an association with water (abundance or lack thereof). Some hikes may be a few miles – others a mile or so exploring seeps, a wet meadow, a creekside and springs!
