Let's get outside and steward our shrub-steppe! Join us and our friends from Friends of Badger Mountain in planting 470 sagebrush seedlings! This community led restoration effort will help restore some highly disturbed weedy areas near the Badger Mountain Westgate Trailhead (off Dallas Rd). The sagebrush seedlings we’ll be planting were grown using locally sourced sagebrush seed that our chapter collected. All are welcome to join in this planting event!
Where: Badger Mountain West Gate Trailhead (trailhead off of Dallas Road), Richland, WA
When: Sunday November 17th 10 AM-12:30 PM ish
Things to note: We won’t be trekking far from the trailhead but it can be cold and windy so please dress in warm layers, and sturdy hiking boots. There is a porta potty located at the trailhead.
What to bring: Your favorite digging tool, garden gloves, and water recommended. We’ll have a few spare spades on hand just in case.
Huge thank you to Friends of Badger Mountain for partnering with us on this planting event! https://friendsofbadger.org/
If you can, RSVP to our Restoration Chair Alexis Spencer (carrotwarrior.botany@gmail.com) if you would like to join us and if you have any questions. (RSVP requested, not required— We hope to see you there!)
