Let's get outside and steward our shrub-steppe! Join us to get 250 sagebrush plants into the ground at the Horn Rapids County Park Complex. This community led restoration effort will help expand a grove of existing Sagebrush that provides habitat and shelter for our local birds and fauna. This event will also serve as our November meeting. All are welcome to this volunteer event!
When: Sunday November 5th 2 PM-4:30PM
Where: Horn Rapids County Park - Horse Camp (11583 US Reservation Rd, Benton City, WA 99320)
Directions:
From Richland: head towards Vantage on Highway 240 for about 8 miles- at the roundabout veer onto Highway 225 towards Benton City for .75 miles then turn left into Horn Rapids County Park. Then, turn right towards the Horse Camp. Parking will be near the concession stand in the Horse Camp.
From I-82: Take exit 96 onto Highway 225 (the main road through Benton City) for 10.7 miles - turn right into Horn Rapids County Park - Then, turn right towards the Horse Camp. Parking will be near the concession stand in the Horse Camp.
Things to note:
Dress for the weather; closed toed shoes, long pants and long shirts, and layers recommended.
What to bring:
Water + snacks + gardening gloves + your favorite digging tool!
There will be a few spare planting supplies and gloves on hand if you don't have your own.
