Get outside and join us for an excursion to collect sagebrush seeds! We'll learn some of the basics of native seed collection including collecting etiquette and when and how to tell if seeds are ripe. The seeds we collect will be used in an upcoming seedball restoration project led by Tapteal Greenway and a prospective Eagle Scout. All are welcome to this free event- just note that folks under the age of 18 must bring along a parent or legal guardian in order to join in on the fun!
MEETING PLACE:
Parking lot of Amon Creek Elementary (18 Center Parkway, Richland, WA)
From there, we'll walk .2 mi to the collection site.
Things to note: A majority of the collection site will be along uneven terrain with sections to collect along a paved road. Closed toe shoes, long pants and gloves are recommended. We will be outdoors for the duration of this event so dress warm! All participants must fill out a WNPS liability waiver in order to participate. Print a bring a long or we’ll have some on hand to fill out. Thank you!
What to Bring: A large paper bag would be helpful if you have it.
Huge thank you to Tapteal Greenway for collaborating on this collection event!
