Flora, fungi and algae oh my! Cozy up for an evening at home in the herbarium with Dr David Giblin– Collections Manager and Research Botanist at the University of Washington Herbarium! Home to over 700,000 specimens and counting, the UW herbarium is world renowned and serves as a resource for researchers and the public alike. Dr. Giblin will share the ins and outs of how the herbarium works and the role it plays in documenting and preserving the native plant species we hold so dear. What’s more is we’ll hear how we as citizen scientists can contribute and use this amazing resource. All are welcome to this free zoom event!

Dr. David Giblin is the Collections Manager and Research Botanist University of Washington Herbarium. ‘The core mission of the Herbarium is to document, archive, and share information about the diversity and distribution of Pacific Northwest plants, fungi, and lichens.’
